A blog??

Well, I have to admit that I never thought this day would come. Here I am, writing in a blog of my own. Don't get me wrong; I like blogs. Many of my friends have blogs and I love to read them. But I just never expected to have one myself. I never thought that I would have anything to say that anyone else would be interested in reading, or that I would want anyone else to read. Well, now that's all changed because I have something, or rather someone, to write about. I'm pregnant and I want to be able to share the pregnancy, birth, and early years with all our friends and family, who are spread out all over the country and world. This is definitely the best way to do that. So here I am! I don't know how often I will update this--weekly? monthly? Maybe I'll become addicted to it, or maybe I'll forget all about it. Maybe I'll even get Mark to write some entries on fatherhood! I named the blog Smottopia because it's not just about me or just about the baby; it's about us as a family. Originally I was going to name our new company Smottopia but then decided that it was a little too fanciful for that. This works much better. I hope everyone enjoys reading about how we are doing.
