Walking update

I finally got a better video of Penelope walking. I feel like it is almost as hard as photographing some elusive endangered animal. Every time I take out the camera, she stops whatever she is doing. I have to sneak up on her. She's really walking well now, she walks all over the place all the time!

Red Rocks

Last week Mark and the band toured with the Flaming Lips. I flew up to Denver with a few friends to catch their show at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. This venue is the most amazing one I've ever seen! It was so freaking beautiful. The rocks are bigger than I imagined and the views from the top are incredible. Big thanks to Jeanne for babysitting Penelope while I was gone!

Walking!!!!

I know, I know, it's been forever since I last blogged. But I'm making it up to you by posting a (unfortunately short) video of Penelope learning to walk! In the past few days she's starting taking a few steps at a time by herself. You have to watch carefully or else you'll miss it!

SXSW 2009

EITS at SXSW

Last weekend, Mark's band played at the South By Southwest Music Festival here in Austin. They played a big outdoor show at a park downtown. I'm posting a few photos I took from that day. I'm also including a couple of photos from a ping pong party at our friends John, Susann, and Sylvia's house the next day. The show was a lot of fun. The crowd was estimated at about 20,000 people. The festival people had it arranged so that a bunch of fireworks went off right at the end of their set during their last song. Too bad I don't have any good photos of that part. Mark's mom came down to babysit for us so that we could both go to the show. Thanks Grandma Smith!! Maybe next time Penelope can watch her daddy play.

I haven't downloaded my own video yet, and it wasn't that good, so here's a video someone else took that shows the last few minutes. Sorry the sound isn't good.
